Cause: Inadvertent rough
handling of the power connector, when connecting
or disconnecting the power cable on the
Duplidisk Bay Mount and NoSlot units, can
cause the white shroud covering the power
connector prongs to loosen and dislodge.
This may cause the shroud to move forward
on the prongs.
Corrective Action:
If the shroud is not in its proper position,
a good solid connection cannot be made and
power may not reach the Duplidisk. In this
event, no "okay" beep will be
heard on power up and the Duplidisk may
appear to be "dead." However,
in some cases, it is possible that a connection
can be made on start up, but jostling the
computer, or causing some other small movement
of the cables or peripherals connected to
the computer, may break this tenuous connection.
If no beep on startup or intermittent loss
of power is experienced, check the power
connector shroud to insure that it is in
its proper place.
See diagram below. If the shroud has been
moved forward, pushing it firmly back into
its proper place will eliminate the problem.
