Symptom: The Duplidisk erratically indicates a drive failure on startup, although both, the Duplidisk and drive,s appear to be functioning properly.

Cause: The problem may be due to the system not allowing enough time for both drives to be recognized. This can happen when a drive spins up too slowly or when the memory test has been disabled on a particularly fast PC.

Unlike a single drive machine, a system outfitted with a Duplidisk MUST have enough time to interrogate BOTH drives to determine their status. If, while checking for a bootable drive, the BIOS times out before both drives have had an opportunity to respond, this may result in only one drive being recognized.

Corrective Action:

In order to avoid this problem:

Set your BIOS to boot more slowly by ENABLING the SYSTEM MEMORY TEST.
