DPS Engineering has discovered a problem
in our Duplidisk 3 firmware that could cause
the unit to become temporarily unusable
after a system power down with users running
Windows AND our Windows support software.
Cause: Restoring "Factory
Defaults" from our Windows support
program.
Models Affected: All DPS
products with Duplidisk 3 (dd3) Technology
Corrective Action: Firmware
upgrade (Versions by model below): http://EzD2D.com/support/downloads/.
If your system has been affected, the system
will still be usable WITHOUT the Duplidisk,
and the problem can be cleared on the unit
by either calling our tech support line,
OR following the procedure below:
1. Power down machine.
2. Select Model below
All Models Except RAIDCase, and
EZ Series (Firmware release 3.27):
Place a standard hard drive type jumper
on J-26 pins 1 and 2.
EzSeries, and RAIDCase (Firmware
Release 5.xx)
Insert FOUR jumpers on J-15 at the rear
of the Duplidisk.
3. Turn on the machine.
4. After the Duplidisk beeps, turn off the
machine, remove the Jumper, and perform
a "flash upgrade" with the files
from the link above
NOTES:
This problem does NOT affect the system
operation unless the user applies the "RESTORE
DEFAULTS" button from within our Windows
program.
If you use our DOS support program to
restore factory defaults, this problem will
NOT occur.
For the short term, until a firmware upgrade
is available, set the program settings manually.
Do not use the "RESTORE DEFAULTS"
button.
